View Full Version : Don't let this happened on your fishing trip..!!
Believe me guys, it really hurts...!!
Luckily there's a doctor in a small village on a small island nearby the fishing spot.

Many times on a fishing trip, I used to see some anglers just simple sprew the hooks and line all over the deck, worst is the hooks are still attached to the leader and when you move past, whilst fighting a big fish you literally get hooked as the other end of the leader is entrangle to some obstacle and this is something that I always raise my voice and I know some of them dislike me for this-grumpy old man. I rather they dislike me than to see an angler get hooked on the leg. The other way is I will just pick it up their line and hooks and throw them overboard even though some claim that their fc leader and hooks are expensive one. They should get a plastic container or tray to put them neatly if they want to use it again. They should follow the habit of one angler that I know (Uncle Tham) a vivid hardcore bottom angler. He alway carry a plastic container (those 5 litre dishwasher liquid container cut off the top) and he will roll up the leader together with the hooks and throw them into his container. A very good old habit.

during the operation, i was staying on the boat, so i didn't see what they do exactly. but what i heard was, after local anesthetized, they made a cut then pulled the hook out from the toe backward.

Well said! Robert, you are right on all the point. Also some anglers like to put theirs rod everywhere and rod holder when they don't want to fish or sleeping that is an bad habit I personally don't like it.
Cheers!

base on the 1st pic i dun think they'll push the hook thru from the other side, probably just cut open the potion where the barb is and put it out the way it went in..
but, hey!! are we supposed to be looking at the hook? tot there is something more interesting then the hook? :p :p

Might that interesting thing be wearing a t-shirt that says "Cutie" ?? hahaha...:D what a Cutie!
Ahem.. on a more serious note... perhaps some of you felt that carry a hard 5-litre bottle alittle hassle, afterall, lagguage space constraint is a huge thing on certain offshore trips.. here's a simple thin styrofoam bag that I use for all my offshore trips, its large and during off-season, it accompanies me on my pond and luring trip if I need to use it. :) It light and compact and foldable.. yet its very washable.. it opens up very well.. and can fit 6 cans of drinks.. but the real beauty of it? Affordability.. only $2 from Daiso.... kekeke... :D
Attached are pictures of it... the only trouble is that its quite light.. so when on board, need to secure it.

I think you missed this point, this 5 litre bottle if you cut it properly to the height of your luggage bag then you can even put your 2 or 3 reels into it with some sponge to cushion off as shock absorber and this container act as a support for your reel. Then on board when you take out your reels to set up onto your rod, this container is for use on board and end of the trip rinse with water and put it back in your luggage bag and put back the reel into it for transportation home. No hassle at all. Hope you understand what I am trying to say.
Cheers and happy fishing
