I also hope for the best. We are a bunch of nobodys going up for the competition. Unlike the Big Boys frm LH, they were predicted this year's champion by forummers frm MFN. If we win, Joshua would be beri happy:D :D Then we each will get a kiss frm him..hahahahaha

I am sorry Joshua, we have FAILED in our mission to bring the title back to tackleworld. Due to the poor understanding of the terrian there, but there is still no excuses for that. We still lost. We are very sorry due to the high expectation.:( :( :( :( But i promise you that we'll try again next year.:(

Thanks for being so forgiving. For the 2 days we were casting all our lures like there was no tomorrow. Braving the day 1 thunderstorm, despite of the whistle being blown for bad weather, we kept on cast non-stop. :D i have never cast so much in the 2 days fishing com. But still the flies beat the lures...:(

So next year, no more peanuts for you..:D

Phil,

Welcome to TWU. So, you want one of each but you forgot to mention what size. Hope Amos will bring us to the right spot for those biggies. KL or Kuala Lumpur, is the capital of Malaysia.

Amos,

Phil is an American with the US Navy. He will be visiting us on Nov 29 and 30.

Barramundi? Abit difficult during this time of the year already, we are having absurd weather here in singapore. One moment it could be sunny and hot, next moment, Kaboommm... It will be pouring, but nevertheless i will still bring you guys out to try for the Barramundi. For peacock bass and snakehead aka toman, i should be quite confident in that unless the guy up there starts protesting.:D :D

I wanted to try to post some pictures of some of my favorite catches the last few years to help introduce myself, but bandwidth from ship is too slow and I can't access my photobucket site to put them up.

At any rate, I do have some pics here: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v210/tacklejunky/

Mostly fishing in the U.S. and Japan. We are fishing junkies and will be happy to rip lips of whatever you guide us to!

You guys talk a lot about KL, do you know anything about Langkawi? I'll be going there after Singapore, for a bit longer stay. It seems there should be some good fishing there as well.

I do appreciate the help and look forward to putting a bend in some rods. Snakehead and peacock bass would be great fun. Barramundi would simply be a bonus as I've not caught one before. Earlier this year we were in Port Kelang, where I fished off the harbor pier. I only caught some small croaker, pomfret, and archerfish, no luck with bigger game as I didn't have the weights heavy enough to stay on the bottom.

Your killing me w/ your peacock bass pics. We should have been there with you!

At any rate, thank you and Anthony very much for the invitation and I hope things work out much better the next time I'm here. Unfortunately, being military there's not much I can do about work schedule. We did do very well though around the ship, catching a nice snapper and about 15-20 queenfish. Lots of big needlefish around as well and a couple broken lines. I sent Anthony the pics, but not very good quality due to dark.

Hi all, here's another CR report by yours truly last night till this morning.

After 2 warm up casts. 3rd cast, wham......

Yours truly with the subdued captive. Released after the photo taking:D
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee165/xxpa/20122007483-001-small.jpg

After the next 1/2hrs to an hour, plenty of misses but no proper hookups. Its was the nite of the Phewsters. Then Bingo... Friend landed the 1st grouper for the night.:o
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee165/xxpa/20122007485-small.jpg

After the first grouper landed, it seems like the rest of the groupers wanted photo taking as well.:D
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee165/xxpa/20122007486-small.jpg

Another grouper in the next cast:D
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee165/xxpa/20122007487-small.jpg

It seems like after the 3rd grouper, everything quieten down. Hmmm was wondering why whwn we saw Barracuda darting around after the bait fishes. My kaki casted a Evergreen Seadrive and was almost rewarded with a hit, but sadly it ended with a bustoff. Poor man. Moments later out of nowhere a flock of crows flew pass infront of another kaki during his casting and sad to say, kekekeke he foul hook the crow. His 1st bird on lure..
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee165/xxpa/15122007478-small.jpghttp://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee165/xxpa/20122007488-small.jpg

After the episode, we went for kopi break and decided to go for some morning cast for herrings. Plenty of hookups and misses. But i was casting a 18g bays spoon for the herrings using the jigging retrieval method, Accidentally hook up on what i thot was a train on a 8/14lbs St Croix rod. Guess wat it turned out to be..:D Chermin...

http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee165/xxpa/20122007489-small.jpg

Here's the tackle used as seen in the pics.
